Vignette I: Shadow Wintertime

In the year 2045, in the city of Iaville, Philadelphia, LeRoy Malik Locke is prepared to confront his fears and represent the Black community archives. The Black community artifacts of Iaville are pieces of history that must be passed down through generations. They tell a powerful story of resilience and perseverance in the face of oppression. He is uncertain about the future and what it holds for him. His artistic ancestors are always with him, as they are part of the Black Iaville Artists Collective – The Shadow. The year is 2045. Iaville, Philadelphia, is a thriving, futuristic city with advanced technology and a diverse population. Despite the city's progress, the Black community's identity is at risk of being lost. Gentrification is rampant in the neighborhoods on the south side, and the police force is struggling to keep up with FBI investigations into several deaths in the arts community. Meanwhile, a new political party, "New Republics Against African American History in Iaville," is gaining popularity on the west and east sides of the city.
