The Electronic Disturbance Theater (EDT) are a collective of artists, hacktavists, perfomers whose works enact Electronic Civil Disobedience, a term derived from the Critical Art Ensemble, which Ricardo Dominguez participated in prior to the formation of EDT.

Past Projects:

  • FloodNet -- Java application that launched denial-of-service attacks to draw attention to the Zapatista movement.  Later released as Zapatista Disturbance Software Developer's Kit.
  • Virtual Sit-Ins, subsequent denial-of-service attacks for Health Care for the poor, against the Iraq War, against anti-immigrant websites, and on March 4 2010 against the University of California President's page in protest of cuts to the budget.
The last Virtual Sit-In was the ultimate subject of the year-long investigation into Ricardo Dominguez.
