Tracing the Trace: The Model

Because Tracing the Trace will be using Scalar as its exhibition space, I will employ Dublin Core as my data model.  I am particularly interested in the following elements:  Method of Accrual, Period of Time, Physical Medium, and Physical Resource.  I think these elements provide a way of emphasizing the materiality of the digital artifact, rather than the objects these artifacts appear to represent; the point being that each object is a trace of another, but the actual moment of "art" occurs in the event of the material encounter--in this case an encounter with a digital photograph. In this way, I hope that the model can begin to make its own argument about materiality.
