Mark(up) Twain: Summary
Summary
The MTPO represents the evolution of the Mark Twain Papers archive. The site is therefore an ongoing, long-term project that seeks to create an effective digital experience for both serious researchers and more casual fans of Twain's life and works. To this end, the site strictly adheres to TEI protocol for online archival work. While the original Mark Twain Papers project has focused on producing critical editions in print form, the MTPO offers a more extensively cross-referenced set of data—all works are cross-indexed with associated letters, biographies, and illustrations or photographs. The result is an archive that contains massive amounts of metadata that allows the user to easily navigate Twain's enormous corpus.
