United Service for New Americans
The United Service for New Americans (USNA) was founded in 1946 through a merger of the National Refugee Service, the National Coordinating Committee, and the Section for the Foreign Born of the National Council of Jewish Women. The USNA helped Displaced Person find homes, procure jobs, and learn English.
USNA was a constituent organization of the United Jewish Appeal. In 1954, USNA merged with other Jewish immigration organizations to create the United HIAS Service.
