Aliso Street Bridge, ca. 1870
12017-10-30T13:08:38-07:00Caroline Luce15876dd2f73462af784ac961ee54f3b5170890ce2262Located at the junction of Macy Street (later Brooklyn Avenue, now Cesar Chavez Avenue) and Old Aliso Road, this covered bridge was built across the Los Angeles River in 1870 by the firm of Perry and Woodworth. It was one of the first bridges in the area, providing a valuable transit connection to downtown. The bridge was razed in July 1904 and replaced with a more robust structure.
