Matthew 26:14

This is referring to Jesus' twelve disciples. The number twelve has biblical importance, in this case it is based on the twelve tribes of Israel. The number twelve is a religious that appears or is referenced over 180 times in the bible; 12 sons of Jacob, the 12 pillars, 12 disciples, the 12 gates of Jerusalem, also there are 12 day of Christmas (birth of Jesus). This has led the number 12 to have importance in society today like; 12 months in a year, hours on a clock, inches in a foot. In Greek mythology there are 12 gods/goddess, the zodiac has 12 signs, and etc. This all stems from the Bible.(Bressie)
