Restricted Access: Media, Disability, and the Politics of Participation

Additional Resources

One advantage of a website over a print book is the ability to supplement with multimedia artifacts, to link out, and thus to provide additional information and resources for people who would like to go beyond the text. This section is a kind of interactive appendix to the text, with various resources to help in teaching the text, understanding and creating digital media accessibility, and following up on the blogosphere chronicled in the text.

First, there is a listing of Disability Blogs that were referenced in the text and continue to have live, public web presences.

Secondly, there is an Overview of Web Accessibility that explains some common requirements, coding practices, and errors using an example from the website of The New York Times.

The list of Accessibility Resources provides direct links to policy documents, resources for developers, and accessibility initiatives referenced in the text.
