Greetings and a warm welcome to our very first issue of the Colleague 2 Colleague digital magazine, Lantern! We will be publishing twice a year. We expect this digital magizine to grow and change greatly over time. We are excited to share this maiden edition with our members, sponsors, and supporters. C2C is an all-volunteer organization. We have no membership fees or exclude anyone who wants to participate in our goal of sharing technology expertise, resources, and training emphasizing distance education and instruction in higher education.

While this issue is heavy in new and exciting technologies, we hope to have a wide variety of topics that will appeal to all members of C2C in future editions. This is our first effort so please be patient as we iron out the kinks! We believe that you will gain relevant and just in time information from this resource put together by your colleagues and friends in the field. As this is the initial edition, we hope that you will see its potential and consider submitting an article for the next edition. Regular features will include:

• Book reviews (review of books related to instructional technology, media, distance education, pedagogy, and other areas of higher education
  
• Technologies showcase (technologies on member campus you’d like to share with others)
  
• Handouts to steal (shared handouts and resources)
