in absentia: An English "Home"

The anglicization of the "home" button functions as authorial commentary. In her biographical information, Carpenter writes that she comes from Nova Scotia; therefore, "home" may be anglicized on purpose. Also, the author, in her biography, questions the spatial privileging of home: "my early adoption of the internet was due in part to my attraction to it as a place-less place." "Home" as a spatial marker may in fact be a moot point for her.
