WWII Propoganda

Crossing Perspectives

During the war it came to light the extreme evils and inhumane practices used by the Nazis on the Jewish people.  The Nazi party then attempted to humanize Hitler to show that what he was doing was maybe for the greater good, the German children.  It was a way that they tried to get people to look past what they could have heard however this attempt at humanity did not feel all that sincere.  The propaganda poster depicts another idyllic version of Hitler smiling and holding a child while two more stand beside him.  There are some brighter colors and Hitler is seen as smiling while the children seem stern and serious.  The statement at the bottom reads “Children with the Leader”.  There is no unifying call to action, nothing that warrants a togetherness of the German people.  In fact, in stands to reason that at the time when the majority of the world saw this they would be horrified at the image of children being associated with Hitler and the Nazi party.
