This hand-drawn deck of cards is inspired by an edition of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” illustrated by contemporary Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Twelve Carrollian themes or characters make up the deck, including the sister, the pig, the lobster, tears, dreams, the tonic, and innocence. Delicate line work and subtle pastel watercolors mirror Alice’s clarity and openness. Wang’s artist statement playfully declares , “No matter where we are, we should play the hand we have been dealt.”
