Making Our Own Kind of Music: The History and Legacy of the Women’s Music Movement

Publications and Catalogs

Behind the scenes of the Women's Music Movement, women worked tirelessly assembling publications reviewing artists and advertising festivals, concerts and new records. Without the women who created a network of communication, the Movement would likely never have reached as many women nationally that it did. The enormous success of the Movement owes itself largely to the incredible labor of the women working in publication.

Famous publications of the Movement include: Paid my Dues, HOT WIRE, and Women's Music Plus.
