Expectation & Requirements
Expectations
- Regular attendance at all class sessions and active participation in discussion.
- Completion of weekly readings in advance of each class session.
- Respectful engagement with your peers in the classroom, course critiques and group projects. This includes: following through and showing up on time to your commitments; carrying your share of the load with group work; showing patience around each others' learning process; expressing productive forms of support, whether in the form of affirmations or helping someone less proficient with a technical skill; etc.
- Timely completion of take-home lab assignments, which are designed for you to synthesize the theoretical and technical concepts from each week and progressively build a foundation needed for you to complete the final course project.
- Clear communication with the instructor about any materials that you might not understand, including expectations for any course assignments. Do not wait until the last minute to ask for clarification about anything!
Requirements
- 20% – Attendance, Participation & Collective Presence
- 20% – 6 Take-Home Lab Assignments (always due by noon on the Wed before each class session)
- 10% – Final Project Pitch #1 (due in class during weeks 4 and 5)
- 10% – Final Project Pitch #2 (due in-class on weeks 6 and 7)
- 40% – Final Project (due at 10am on Tues, Mar 21)

All readings can be viewed or downloaded as a PDF at the "Assigned Readings" page.
All production materials (external hard drive, video camera + lenses, editing software) will be available through the Media Lab.
