From Ave Maria virgo serena by Josquin des Prez, we took the contrapuntal technique and applied it to Greensleeves. Counterpoint is a way of combining two different melodies. Whereas in most song the melody would be supported by chords, here the melody is supported by another melody.
Though I was not able to complete this in class assignment, I was able to realize the objective of the assignment. Looking back on both assignments, I can easily see how Ave Maria virgo serena was supposed to be used as an example to notate Greensleeves.
