Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

This melody had a to come from a familiar childhood tune, so as a class we collective chose John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt. Because, why not? This song was familiar to all of us and was a simple enough tune to visualize without have to listen to it.
Here, one can see exactly how I actualized this notation. To someone who might not be familiar with the tune of John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt, this way of notating the song might be hard to read and understand. However, for those of us who are familiar with the tune, this visualization follows the direct melody of the song. Though there are only dots and lyrics, knowing the tunes helps to follow this way of notating. From this exercise, I was able to realize that a simple and familiar song was required to understand my way of notating. Realizing this helped me for my final Innovation Notation Project.
