Applegate River Watershed Assessment: Aquatic, Wildlife, and Special Plant Habitat. The United States. Bureau of Land Management. Medford District. Oregon. (1995): [Government Publications: I 53.2: Aq 3]

This report analyzes and addresses the historical and current conditions, and trends of the aquatic, wildlife, and unique plant habitats of the Applegate River Watershed. Based on existing data, it identifies the watershed’s long-term monitoring and restoration needs and proposes project-specific strategies/recommendations to meet these needs.

This report contains information gathered on the watershed’s overall health from 2004-2006. Sections of the report focus on the chemical, physical, and biological attributes collected throughout the watershed from 1997 through 2007. Research methods included evaluations of habitats, stream temperatures, discharge, water quality, riparian planting effectiveness monitoring, spawning gravel, and channel dynamics.

This student thesis investigates how the environmental and natural disturbance variables such as elevation, soil quality, the presence of fire, and water quality/cycling have influenced the general landscape patterns of the Applegate River Watershed. Multivariate techniques were used to assess the relationship between these variables and the current plant assemblages from grassland, scrubland, and woodland communities.
