Automated Transcription
As of December 2018, NVivo 12 does support automated transcription. Though it's much cheaper than manual transcription, you can do even cheaper with services like Sonix.ai (about half the price currently). Transcription can be seriously garbled, and often comic, but it's sufficient to be able to locate what's happening in a discussion, and may be OK for an interview.

Discussion of "Automated Transcription"
Transcription
Hello, Charles: Thanks for your note. I personally prefer using Google's YouTube voice-to-text transcription and their transcript editing capabilities...and the ability to export the .srt file.Of course, nothing sensitive can be posted into an account because of the lack of clarity of where videos are stored (abroad or not?)...and how...(even if the video itself is made non-findable and non-playable on YouTube). But for non-sensitive videos, YouTube is a great and free resource.
