President Fletcher as a Young Man

Dr. Joel Lafayette Fletcher, Jr. assumed the presidency after President Frazar's resignation in 1940. President Fletcher started out as an assistant professor of agriculture, and eventually became the first Dean of the College of Agriculture. One of his long-term goals was keeping students enrolled and helping those under financial stress. He accomplished this by helping students find work on campus, such as on the school's farm and in campus offices.
