UL Lafayette Presidents

President Rougeou in 1972

While his time as president was not as long as Stephens's or Fletcher's, Rougeou accomplished very much. He coordinated around $34 million for more buildings and added new graduate programs including English, history, mathematics, and computer science. In 1969, the first doctoral degrees started to be offered, including in computer science. By the end of his term, student enrollment jumped 43%, more than 12,000 students.
