Edith Garland Dupré Library with Addition

Although constructed in 1960 during President Fletcher's presidency, the additional floors (the University Archives is on the 3rd) were established in 1967. Named after Edith Garland Dupré, who was among the first faculty, Dupré Library has become the epicenter for educational resources on campus. Today, there are over one million bound volumes, two million microform units, and 6000 serial titles. The Library is also home to the University Archives and Acadiana Manuscripts Collection, the Ernest J. Gaines Center, and the Cajun and Creole Music Collection.
