"Many critical media scholars focus their attention on mainstream" (p.1) The major focus of traditional mainstream communication research has been on media effects, in other words, communication research should address is what effect do the media to have an audience. what is research represents a method for finding a way to answer a question and also narrow it to help with finding any interest in what you’re researching. When we find an object, immediately captures attention and inspire questions. methods in critical media studies are built on different analysis or theories, scholars may use to help them in conducting research.

When we analizing media texts, kearney suggests to understands the diferences between them, medium specificity and media and media coverage.  The first one has its own particular properties, while the second one a culture’s dominance by media conlgomerates. There is a lot of big changes when it comes to media, becuase in these days, media is everywhere, we consume media anytime, and for everything.  Critical media analisys of media culture invite us to be open moinded and understand them in new ways. Keaney strongley suggest to considered what research questions arise from your object of study. The more qustions the more interest in pursuing further.

Kearney uses telling and textual examination to illustrate and support her information. The examples that were given thoroughly incorporated representation and intentional approach. In my opinion, Kearney’s intention in this chapter is to help readers when they’re conducting research and give different scholar perspectives. This information is useful because it serves as a guide and teaches readers that times may change and getting difficult but that will help you to become better in the future.

This article is helpful for those who struggle in where to start when it comes to an object of study. She is completely intersted in guide for reaseach. She incorporates textuals facts along with her ideas to help readers. Readers may should consider using or analyzing her methods.
