A rigorous analysis of literature and media covering the politics of gender and sexuality in post-genocide Indonesia. The collection of narratives includes detailed recordings of how women from GERWANI were tortured and brutally murdered by the government. The text is writen from a personal perspective which makes it an even more powerful document to reference when discussing complete indonesian politics.
3. Pohlman, Annie. "Women, sexual violence and the Indonesian killings of 1965-66". 2014.
Pohlman spent her time during the early 2000’s researching types of sexual violence experienced by women in Indonesia. The book is organized around different types of sexual crimes, collet in upto 150 testimonials from both men and women. Pohlman talks about men and women who had their sexual organs mutilated from their bodies then displayed along side their heads.
