Touchable Speculation: Crafting Critical Discourse with 3D Printing, Maker Practices, and Hypermapping

Scholarly Making

To my knowledge, the term scholarly making is not used as frequently as critical making, but has been developed and drawn upon within DH. For some examples of its usage, see: the mission statement of Scholars' Lab, at the University of Virginia; the "How We Make" issue of Trace; an MLA panel titled "Scholarly Making: Pedagogy, Printing, Publics" (of which I am a panelist); and Erik Champion's blog post titled "Digital Heritage, Scholarly Making & Experiential Media."
