binary clock

The wall-art displayed in the lab is meant to represent the foundational need for translation between human and computer. We do not speak each other’s languages easily. Here, I’ve built and installed a binary LED clock, one that is easily understood by computers, but requires an act of translation (most likely with the help of a computer) for human intelligibility. Time often operates as a disciplinary force at the computer lab and clocks are often easily visible in these spaces.
