Interior of Mosque

We want this mosque to contain a fair amount of artistic detailing as well as a modest appeal that blends with the community of Whittier. Within this mosque we wish to create a fair amount of aesthetically appealing designs within the buildings to help feature some more traditional aspects of a mosque in a truly artistic and creative way.

Ablution Fountain
For the ablution fountain we want to keep the concept really simple and easy to use. A simple yet effective fountain will be able to reuse and recycle the already used water to help water the gardens and grasses around the mosque. This will help promote the environmentally friendly sustainability that the Whittier and Los Angeles area promote.

Walls and Floors
Although the fountain and some other features of the mosque may take on a fairly simplistic way of functioning, one of the more prominent details we wish to focus on is the ornate value of the walls and floors. As soon as people enter they will be introduced to a very beautifully decorated building. We want to be able to appeal to members of the mosque while also combining the eclectic and unique inspiration that LA County holds true.

The walls will display brightly painted tiles that compliment the sunny nature of both California and city life while the flooring will take on a more modest design to allow for a complimenting interior.

Mihrab
As one of the great focal points within the mosque, the Mihrab will definitely be one that stands out. A colorful and bold appeal allows this part of our mosque to be viewed as interesting and very important.

Minbar
The Minbar will also be a fairly dominant part of the mosque and will also be detailed with some great colorful designs that compliment the Minrab that it is placed near.

Archways and Ceilings
The archways will be high as soon as members of the mosque walk in, they will be simple and large to allow for the eye to be focused on the detailed ceilings. The ceilings will be ornate and colorful just as the tiles on the wall to illustrate the community in which the mosque will be built. A great splash of colors and designs are what truly stands out with this concept.
