The all-new Star Chief was Pontiac’s most prominent foray into mass-produced, rocket-inspired automobile design. The side and rear panels looked like something from NASA’s labs with a long thin nose cone of chrome flowing down from the front end and expanding into four star-like medallions near the rear fender. The model also included “Stardust” floor carpeting and the now familiar jet-style exhaust ports.
