Fittingly, the top of the building was designed to resemble a stack of gears. Originally built in 1933 for the Chicago World’s Fair, the company moved the structure to Dearborn, Michigan, in 1936 and used the grand space to introduce many of its new car models over the next few decades. Unfortunately, the building caught fire in 1962 and burned to the ground.
