Intro
- Punk as an ideological resistance strategy, aesthetically and politically, to capitalist/commercialist hegemony.
- First I'll look at this stuff generally, through Judith Halberstam and through a look at punk aesthetics/ideology.
- Then I'll move into a case study of The Mekons, a band that never made it big, but (and because of this!) that I feel best embodies these ideas about what I'm calling "the punk art of failure".
