In order to write one, it is essential that you see a model of one to help you put all the pieces together.
"The Two Brothers," written by Leo Tolstoy, is a short story about two brothers who find a stone and have to decide whether to take the risk it instructs, or play it safe. If you play it safe, you avoid many conflicts that would come. But, if you take the risk, your life could change forever...
As you are reading, extract the key elements you see that are a part of a short story. You should be able to find the setting,characters (both the main and supporting), plot, conflict, and theme.After you are done, write a short paragraph about how the author incorporates all of these into his story. Please include whether or not you think he effectively utilized each of the elements. Why or why not? *Remember-plot includes an exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution.
