The Frick Fine Arts Library ~ Early History

The Library Today

The library today serves the Fine Arts Department and the University of Pittsburgh as a whole. Art librarians help Studio Arts students explore the work of other artists and diverse processes and practices by introducing them to the collections in specially curated browsing sessions, and they work with History of Art and Architecture students to hone their critical research skills and teach them the power of the database.

Unlike in the early days, today the library is a part of the University Library System, and their information is easily accessible through the Frick Fine Arts Library ULS page. The library also has their own Tumblr page where librarians, staff, and students post about class projects, their creative process, interesting reads, local art news, and more.
