Overview of the Project

The purpose of this project is to inform readers about the historic significance of the memorizing Tunnels of Cu Chi, located in Vietnam, and compel them to see this wonder for themselves. This project first examines the history of Vietnam, to help individuals understand the mindset of the Vietnamese people during the Vietnam War. Then a brief account of how Viet Cong soldiers used the tunnels during battle is given to demonstrate how effective and devastating the underground labyrinth was in warfare. After this, the project examines what the tunnels symbolize for the Vietnamese people of today, and also what it symbolizes for Americans. The project concludes with what individuals can experience when they visit Tunnels of Cu Chi.
