The Book As

the Old Man and the Sea, Joy Drury Cox

Another example of deformance is Joy Drury Cox's Old Man and the Sea, drawn from Ernest Hemingway's 1952 novel. This is similar to Tree of Codes in that text is strategically removed from the original source in order to create something new. Old Man and the Sea is singular in that all text is removed, leaving only a constellation of punctuation that draws attention to the pacing of Hemingway's writing.
