Summer 2016 garden readings

Two questions focus us in our inaugural food and community summer work at Hamline:
1. How do we appreciate food (and community, and environment), and how do we show our appreciation in ways that help us share what we value in food -- and that help us explore how we can live up to foods' value?
2. What stories about food provisioning and sharing -- especially from the city -- do we hear that people want to share? Do we have a role in helping with that sharing? What does that look like, and who do we work with?
We have shared a number of readings this summer, below. The Gardening as Spiritual Practice interns through the Wesley Center have also shared some of their readings, including: Diana Butler Bass' chapter one "Dirt" in "Grounded: Finding God in the World, A Spiritual Revolution" (New York, N.Y.: HarperCollins, 2015).
