A lot of frustration that people feel toward the modern political process may be due to the fact that we don't feel very connected to our leaders. They may work in far off places like Washington, DC; they may have knowledge of world events we are not privy to; they may attend exclusive events and throw posh parties; they may hang out with entire communities of people that we will never be part of; they may be educated in schools or live in neighborhoods we will only visit, maybe. How then can leaders and followers connect other than through comedy routines on late night television?
