About SourceLab

Founded in 2015, SourceLab is a student-led digital humanities collective sponsored by the Department of History at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. SourceLab explores the intersection between information technology and the future of the historical record.

Membership in SourceLab is open to students, faculty, staff, and the public at large. Each semester we host public events, produce new source editions, and offer courses on digital documentary editing. We also publish SourceLab, a peer-reviewed series of student-authored digital documentary editions. All of our publications are licensed for free and unrestricted use in all settings under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). (This edition is part of the series.)
