Merchant of Venice Act 1.1

This short story is about a rich and poor boy, the rich boy told the poor boy if he wanted to eat the rich boy's snack he had to play the dog. The poor boy accepted his condition, if the poor boy had dignity he would have found a way to make money to buy the sweets himself instead of being the dog. The theme that this short story presents is the lack of Self Reliance between the poor boy and Bassanio. Both charters relied on others to obtain their means instead of obtaining their means themselves.
