Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

Written and drawn by Minetaro Mochizuki, it relates the journey of two young Tokyo high school students after a terrible accident on the bullet train as they return from their school field trip.
Following an earthquake that derails their train and leaves them trapped inside a tunnel, Teru and Ako must find a way to survive in a post-disaster world. Working together, they escape the tunnel only to be confronted with the harsh reality of the current state of Japan.
In 1997, Dragon Head won the Kodansha Manga Award for general manga and was adapted into a live action film directed by Jōji Iida in 2003. Dragon Head can be purchased at retailers such as Amazon.com.
