For years, she has been drawing a new comic every day and sharing them weekly. As the current crisis has emerged, these daily drawings reflect the changes both physical and psychological of the time, as well as the continuing needs, joys, and challenges of daily existence. A selection can be seen here. Her drawing from March 15, 2020 addresses grocery shopping in a pandemic, racism against Asians, and the balance between self-care and care for others.
MariNaomi will be in conversation with curator Lexi Johnson on Monday June 8, 2020 at 2pm to speak about her practice and daily comics in relation to themes brought up by “safer at home.” Click HERE to register for the live event.
