Replace “AIDS” with “Covid-19” in the above image and it bears remarkable similarity to the images and statistics available 24/7 on CNN. For some, this image will bring up the pain and trauma of living through the AIDS-crisis. For others, it might dispel the myth that this is the first time we are experiencing a hospital shortage in response to a spreading disease. In either case, it demonstrates that progress is not linear and that there is always more to learn from the past.
