Remains of the Everyday, Kipple Yard: Images, essays and links to accompany the book.
Still under construction, but please look around and leave comments, etc....

Companion Images to the Book

Below are additional images to accompany the Remains of the Everyday organized by chapter, including some higher quality reproductions of images in the book.  For example, under Chapter 2 below you will find about a dozen Republican era (1912-1949) photos documenting some of the trades, peddlers and forms of scrap collecting discussed in that chapter. For a better look at an image just click on it. For more information about an image, move your cursor over the image's title and a description will pop up. There are also links to visual essays that dig into topics I did not have room to explore fully in the book. For example, under Chapter 7 are links to four photo essays on topics related to that chapter. You can find those and other essays through the Kipple-Yard's Table of Contents as well.
