Blizzard isn't known for making a large amount of games, but the games they do make are known as some of the genre's best. Blizzard has made games like Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch. They are also running the current top subscription based Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game(MMO or MMORPG) with it's height being well over 10 million subscribers.

Bethesda has worked on a wide variety of games. However, they are by far most known for two game series, Fallout, and Elder Scrolls. The later being a series that Bethesda created, and the former being a series they acquired the rights to. The Fallout series has four main title games and a few spin-offs. Elder Scrolls has five main titles, and an MMO.

EA is a massive company responsible for many different genres of games. They have hits in the sports game genre such as Madden NFL. They have games like Dragon Age for the role-playing game genre. They even have one of the most well known games in the first person shooter genre, Battlefield. They are not well liked however, receiving the Golden Poo award twice for worst company. This wasn't just video game companies either, this award had businesses like Wal-Mart and Exxonmobil in the list.

Gearbox Software has worked on several different games, but the series they're the most known for is Borderlands. Out of the six companies on this list they are the smallest. They are also the newest so it's to be expected. Though, they aren't the newest by much.

Rockstar Games, while starting only one year earlier than Gearbox Software, has produced the most well known video game from United States. Grand Thief Auto V Online is the highest selling game of all time. They are also known for games such as Red Dead Redemption and Bully. They are a company known for pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable for a video game to cover. 

Vale is more of a video game distribution company, than a game development company. Though they do have several cult classic titles such as Half-Life and Portal. They are most known for their PC gaming distribution platform Steam. Many other companies have tried to cut into the market, but Valve has largely be able to maintain its dominance for over 20 years.
