Four days after KSI uploaded a diss track music video, Logan Paul responds with one of his own. Paul's video is somewhat shorter and simpler than KSI's, and features an aesthetic suggesting lower production value and a quicker turnaround.
Notable moments:- 00:00: Opens on Logan Paul preparing for the fight by hitting a punching bag while overlaid text locates him in "London."
- 0:12: Paul picks up a phone call from his brother and undercard fighter, Jake Paul.
- This exchange emphasizes a recurring theme of this fight's rhetoric: while Logan Paul is busy training, KSI is renting a mansion to film an elaborate music video.
- 0:54: Another caption informs us that Logan Paul has decided to feature KSI on his own diss track.
- KSI's more painfully awkward moments are shown in multiple clips that recur on and off throughout the video. Most of these include KSI's purported misogyny, including asking a woman he does not know, "Where have your tits gone?"
- The theme of making KSI's body seem ridiculous (including another recurring joke that KSI resembles the cartoon character Scooby-Doo) are problematic and are explored in my analysis.
- 2:00: Extremely problematic cartoon of a disenfranchised KSI in the style of 8-bit art walks across the screen.
- 2:16: Logan Paul, Jake Paul, and a third member of the Paul team question when KSI's #MeToo moment will arrive.
- It is worth noting that some of KSI's prank videos can be classified as misogynistic, with the clip shown in Paul's diss track as outright molestation. In this clip (whose source I have not been able to track down), KSI appears to ask a woman on the street "how much [they would] suck dick for." However, three men screaming this hashtag from the top of a double decker bus moving through London is not a good look.
- 2:45: The video cuts to footage of KSI at the press conference in Los Angeles yelling "Fuck the Pauls!"
- This footage is intercut with the Pauls also yelling, "Fuck the Pauls!" By leaning further into this image, the Paul team is making another statement: they love to be hated, because hate drives income.
- 3:08: The video closes out with Paul encouraging his fans to buy more merchandise.
