Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

The source material for this project is grouped into units based on the speculative elements, themes, or tools that they utilize. Below are the six units. You can click any of them to get started. Each unit features 3 - 5 media sources, and each source has an annotation that includes brief summary of the material, the speculative tools it is using, what it is accomplishing with those tools, and some discussion questions. These annotations are meant to kickstart thinking and learning about equity for queer disabled communities. The discussion questions could be for a book club, a classroom, discussing with a friend, or for your own ruminations on the source. I welcome feedback via the suggestion box, or you can leave a comment on any of the pages on this site.
