Scrapbook images were a majorly marketable component as scrapbook popularity rose in the late nineteenth century. Companies would include decorative punch-out shapes in their advertisements, which functioned as collectible items, as well as selling punch-outs specifically for scrapbook enthusiasts. Prudence has a few examples of such punch-outs, but she also includes clippings of fashion plates from magazines and printed images from newspapers.
