Kampmann Marodin057612e7fc4f8728b1dcdf23e7ab160b2ebfb68fGRACVS is a reference to one of the Gracchi brothers, either Tiberius (c. 169-164 – 133 BCE) or Gaius Sempronius Gracchus (154 - 121 BCE). The symmetry implied by the arch suggests that, similarly to the right side of the arch, two more busts are displayed to the left of the pictorial space, with one of them certainly representing the other brother.
