Perfecting Eloquence: Jesuit Pedagogy in the First-Year Writing Classroom

More on the "Spiritual Autobiography" and literacy narratives

This project is not the first to connect The Autobiography of Saint. Ignatius Loyola and literacy narratives. Inspiration for this assignment was drawn from Thomas Deans' publication, "Loyola's Literacy Narrative: Writing and Rhetoric in The Autobiography of Saint Ignatius Loyola" (2016), which is a chapter in Traditions of Eloquence: The Jesuits and Modern Rhetorical Studies, edited by John Brereton and Cinthia Gannett.
