Now, Mr. Lincoln?

Black Population in Tacoma/Average Family Income 2010

While evaluating the successes and failures of the Now Mr. Lincoln campaign, it is important to keep in mind that these experiments were largely occurring in neighborhoods that could best be described as ticking time bombs. In the late 1960s, few could have predicted just how prolonged and destructive the declines suffered by America’s urban centers would become. Whatever business failures occurred during this time cannot be exclusively blamed upon the business owners themselves, but instead, must be placed into a much broader context of urban blight and stagnation, one that we are only now beginning to recover from.
