Tips and Tricks
NextEngine 3D Scanner Ultra HD Guide 2016- If doing many scans at a time (i.e. using the 360 setting), check the first scan to ensure it is scanning how you want. After each sub-scan the division will show up in ScanStudio- check it to see if you need to stop the scan and re-calibrate the settings before moving on.
- It is important to ensure that your object is within the range that the scanner is set. If your object is out of range (either closer or farther), your scan will not create a crisp and coherent image.
- If not using the rotating platform, ensure it is disconnected from the scanner before initiating a scan. If wanting to scan an object all the way around without the platform, choose the single scan. You will need to rotate your object manually and click “scan” again to start the next phase of your scan. You will be able to manually align your scans during the editing phase.
- If rotating your object manually, make sure you do not over-rotate – you need to have some overlap in your scans for alignment
- It is essential that both your object and the scanner unit are on stable surfaces; it is NOT recommended that the device or your object be held while scanning- this will result in low quality and shaky scans. Each element of the scanning process needs to be kept completely still in order to produce quality scans.
- DO NOT unplug any element of the scanning setup during a scan. If you need to stop a scan, use the “stop scan” button before dismantling the system. Unplugging during a scan can lead to corruption of scan files and freezing within the program.
