Yves Saint Laurent

Yves Saint Laurent, a famous fashion designer whose brand is still popular today, had a massive impact on female fashion, especially during the Sexual Revolution. His concept of the “emancipated women” appealed to the feminists who desired to be free of rigid gender conformity and express their power and sexuality. In 1966, YSL introduced his Le Smoking tuxedo jacket, one of the first popularized tuxedos made for women. His work was a pioneer for androgynous styles and unisex clothing.
